Essiac TGP Goat Milk Soap Ingredients | Essiac Tea Soap now with an earthy, spicy scent
Discover Essiac TGP Goat Milk Soap, a distinctive botanical bar inspired by herbs traditionally associated with Essiac herbal preparations. Each 3.5-ounce bar combines fresh goat milk, botanical oils, sal butter, grass-fed ghee, eight finely ground herbs, and ginger and patchouli essential oils.
We make every bar in small batches using fresh milk from our organically fed goats. High oleic sunflower oil creates the foundation, while babassu oil supports abundant bubbles. Castor oil helps produce a creamy, stable lather.
Meanwhile, Sacha Inchi oil contributes its distinctive fatty-acid profile. Sal butter adds firmness, and grass-fed ghee brings traditional dairy fat to this unusual recipe.
Blessed thistle, burdock root, kelp, red clover, sheep sorrel, slippery elm bark, Turkish rhubarb root, and watercress complete the botanical blend. These finely ground herbs give each bar its distinctive character and light texture.
Ginger and patchouli essential oils create a warm, spicy, and earthy aroma. Additionally, our 12% superfat formula combines a diverse selection of oils and fats for a richly formulated cleansing bar.

Essiac TGP Goat Milk Soap Oils and Butters
- Organic High Oleic Sunflower Oil — Contains a high proportion of oleic acid compared with conventional sunflower oil. It provides a balanced fatty-acid foundation and contributes to the soap’s cleansing characteristics.
- Organic Babassu Oil — Derived from the seeds of a South American palm, babassu oil contains lauric and myristic acids. These fatty acids help create cleansing soap with abundant bubbles and a firm bar.
- Organic Castor Oil — Rich in ricinoleic acid, castor oil helps support creamy, stable lather. Soapmakers often combine it with other oils to improve foam texture.
- Grass-Fed Ghee — Ghee is clarified butterfat with a long history in South Asian culinary traditions. Its fatty-acid profile includes palmitic, stearic, and oleic acids. In soap, it contributes additional fats to the overall formula.
- Organic Sacha Inchi Oil — This South American botanical oil contains alpha-linolenic, linoleic, and oleic fatty acids. It adds a distinctive plant oil to the recipe’s combination of fats.
- Sal Butter — Obtained from the seeds of the Shorea robusta tree, sal butter is valued in soapmaking for its firming characteristics. Its stearic and oleic acids complement the softer liquid oils.
Sodium Hydroxide and the Soapmaking Process
- Sodium Hydroxide (Lye) — Sodium hydroxide is necessary for making true bar soap from oils and fats. During saponification, it reacts with the fats to form soap and naturally occurring glycerin. A properly calculated and fully cured recipe should not contain excess unreacted sodium hydroxide.
Essiac TGP Goat Milk Soap Botanical Herbs
Blessed Thistle, Burdock Root, and Kelp

- Organic Burdock Root — Used historically in European and Asian food and herbal traditions, burdock root adds earthy botanical character and finely ground texture.
- Organic Kelp — This marine seaweed has a long history as a food and traditional botanical ingredient. Its inclusion adds another plant-derived element to the formula.
Red Clover and Sheep Sorrel
- Organic Red Clover — Red clover has appeared in traditional European and North American herbal preparations. Here, it forms part of the finely ground botanical blend.
- Sheep Sorrel, Whole Plant Including Root — This plant has a history in folk herbal traditions. Its inclusion contributes to the diverse botanical composition of the bar.
Slippery Elm Bark and Turkish Rhubarb Root
- Organic Slippery Elm Bark — Traditionally used in preparations by Indigenous peoples of North America, slippery elm bark contains naturally occurring mucilage. In this rinse-off soap, it contributes botanical character.
- Organic Turkish Rhubarb Root — Rhubarb root has a long history in traditional Chinese and other Asian herbal systems. It adds another distinctive botanical to the blend.
Organic Watercress
- Organic Watercress — Watercress has long been valued as a leafy food and botanical ingredient. It completes the eight-herb combination that distinguishes this soap.
These traditional uses describe the plants’ histories, not medical benefits of the finished soap. This product is intended for external cleansing only.
Essiac TGP Goat Milk Soap Essential Oils
- Ginger Essential Oil — Provides a warm, spicy aroma with fresh notes that brighten the scent profile.
- Patchouli Essential Oil — Contributes a deep, earthy, woody aroma that balances ginger’s sharper notes.
Together, these essential oils give Essiac TGP Goat Milk Soap its distinctive spicy and earthy scent.
Goat Milk in Essiac TGP Goat Milk Soap
Fresh goat milk contributes to the bar’s creamy lather and distinctive formulation. It naturally contains milk fats, proteins, lactose, vitamins, and minerals.
Goat milk contains fatty acids such as capric, caprylic, lauric, myristic, palmitic, stearic, and oleic acids. Their proportions vary naturally. During soapmaking, the milk’s fats interact with the other recipe ingredients.
Goat milk also naturally contains vitamin A, several B vitamins, and minerals such as calcium, phosphorus, potassium, and magnesium. The amounts and forms present in the finished soap depend on the recipe and soapmaking process.
The combination of goat milk, sunflower oil, babassu oil, castor oil, Sacha Inchi oil, ghee, and sal butter creates a distinctive multi-fat soap formula.

Essiac TGP Goat Milk Soap FAQ
Does Essiac TGP Goat Milk Soap contain Essiac tea?
No. The formula features botanicals associated with traditional Essiac preparations, but it is a cleansing soap, not Essiac tea or an herbal beverage.
Is this the same as Genuine Essiac Tea?
No. This is an independently formulated soap inspired by traditional botanical ingredients. It does not replace Genuine Essiac Tea or serve the same purpose as an herbal beverage.
Does Essiac TGP Goat Milk Soap treat skin or health conditions?
No. We make this product for external cleansing. The traditional history of its ingredients does not mean the finished soap treats, prevents, or cures a disease or skin condition.
Why does the bar have a textured surface?
Finely ground herbs contribute natural texture. Each bar may vary slightly in appearance because we make our soap in small batches.
What does 12% superfat mean?
Superfat refers to the portion of calculated oils and fats left beyond the amount needed for complete saponification. In a properly formulated recipe, this contributes additional unsaponified fats to the finished soap.
What does Essiac TGP Goat Milk Soap smell like?
Ginger essential oil adds a warm, spicy aroma, while patchouli essential oil contributes earthy, woody depth. Together, they create the bar’s distinctive botanical scent.

This bar smells amazing. I buy 10 bars of soap at a time so haven’t used this one yet. It’s next up and I’m looking forward to trying it!
I take Essiac Tea internally for all types of inflammation. But this new Essiac Tea Soap was spectacular. I used it on my face and other extreme dry skin and withi 2 days it was 70% better. It is now the soap I use for my whole body especially now with the cold, dry heat, New England weathers. Thank you Terri!
