About the packaging:

Moving forward, no more plastic body butter tubes for Elzire’s Acre.  Read about why we switched to these below.  We’ve actually been able to drop the prices on the butters because of the switch to a more sustainable package.  We were shocked to find that they are actually less $ than plastic! THAT’S a FIRST!  Also, the containers don’t hold quite as much, so we dropped the price because of that also.  We are passing the savings on to you!

Tin-plated steel tins are one of the most recyclable types of containers due to their ability to be reformed without losing quality. Tin-plated steel starts as sheets of steel, which the manufacturer covers with thin layers of tin. Tin has high corrosion resistance, is considered one of the top 50 most abundant elements in the earth’s crust, and is found in many different ores.  The FDA also approves the use of tin in the food industry, allowing for packaging of products, like tea, candy, and more.
